Lift Every Voice & Sing Gospel Festival and Fair

At 9:11am all activities in Bushnell Park will cease and a Moment of Silence will take place in Memory of the Victims of 9/11.

 
The LEVAS Organization will Celebrate Fifteen Years of “Lifting the Spirit of the Community through the Arts” on September 11, 2010 at the Stage Pavilion in Bushnell Park from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. For this great event LEVAS is in partnership with the City of Hartford, Evelyn Preston Memorial Foundation, Knox Foundation, Ensworth Foundation, Edward C. & Ann T. Roberts Foundation, Greater Hartford Arts Council, The Ministry of the Open Door, MDC, Christian Activities Council and many others.
 
Featured Artist is:  Trent Von Lee & 7th.   Also, appearing will be the LEVAS Community choir in partnership with the Carrie McCrory and the New England Community Mass Choir, Gwen Douglas and the Triumph/LEVAS Dance Theater Group, Ricardo Calderon-Mantovani, Cross Purpose (NY),Crystal Lake Praise Team Band,
Rev. Edwin Flannigan (TX), Kathleen Clark Sutton, Jose Manuel, Sanctuary of Faith & Glory Mass Choir, The Kevin Sharpe Group (MA), Tapestry, Jestina Gilbert, Tifton Carver Worship Band, Minnett J. Henry and Robin O’Herin.   
 
In addition to the LEVAS Gospel Festival, there will be two other Events that will take place in Bushnell Park on September 11, 2010.   These events are: The annual Central Connecticut Bicycle Alliance bicycling and Walking Tour of Hartford with activities will be at the Pump House Gallery and the 8th Annual Grandparents Day Family Fair from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. will be near the Carousel.
 
                      AT 3:00 P.M. THERE WILL BE A 911 TRIBUTE
 
Other activities will include: a Second Stage (for over flow activities) workshops, food and merchandise vendors, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, introduction to soccer, Double Dutch, Hula Hoop for health,  face painting, inflatable rides, Fire Safety, prayer/ counsel (upon request), a  health fair along with many other family gatherings and activities.
