Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) (click here for printable version)
Is my registration fee tax deductible?
Yes, your registration fee is tax deductible. In addition, any money you donate on top of the $20 suggested fee is tax-deductible.
If I volunteer for the event, do I still have to pay the registration fee?
All volunteers for the event must pay the registration fee. The $20 fee goes toward the cost of putting on the Walk; all of the money that is raised in pledges goes to support Latino Community Services. We hope you will volunteer and get pledges, too.
What is the benefit of registering online?
You won’t have to remember to bring your form & money to the Walk and you won't pay the increased on-site registration fee.
Do I have to pay online? Do my sponsors have to pay online?
You do not have to register online. If you prefer to register by mail, you can request a registration form and you can register and sign up pledges on paper. With this option, you will be responsible for getting the names and addresses of each sponsor so that LCS can send them a receipt. Please bring all pledges and pledge sheets to the Walk. All donations are 100% tax deductible. Latino Community Services is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Your pledge supporters may also pay online and designate you as the walker they are sponsoring.
Do I need to register online if I only want to participate in the Walk and not collect pledges?
If you wish to participate in the Walk and not collect pledges, you may still register online.
If I am not able to attend the Walk, may I still make a donation in support of LCS?
Absolutely! You may donate online or send a check made payable to Latino Community Services, Inc. Please send checks to 184 Wethersfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06114 with “AIDS Walk 2010” in the memo line.
