CDC Programs – Latino Community Services

Healthy Relationships - Is an intervention program for limited English proficient/Spanish-speaking Latino HIV positive clients.  It's a five week session, small group intervention for men/women living with HIV/AIDS and it focuses on building skills to reduce stress in these important ways:
  • Disclosing HIV status to family and friends.
  • Disclosing HIV status to their significant other/partner that is at high risk (IUD sharing partner).
  • Building healthier and safer relationships.
This intervention program will target Latino men/women that are older than 18, who contracted HIV through injection drug use or heterosexual sex.  Healthy Relationships will have eight cohorts (groups) per year; with each cohort consist of five to eight clients.

CRCS (Comprehensive Risk Counseling Services) - Is an intensive, individualized client-centered counseling for adopting and maintaining HIV risk-reduction behaviors.  This intervention program is focusing on HIV positive/HIV negative clients who are at high risk for acquiring or transmitting HIV/STDs and also struggle with issues as substance abuse, physical/mental health and social and cultural factors that affect HIV risk.
