Thank your Member of Congress for standing up to insurance companies!

On March 21, the House of Representatives passed the health reform bill with a vote of 219-212. The Co-Chairs of Connecticut HCAN John Olsen and Tom Swan want to thank you for all of your incredible hard work and endurance.
 
John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes and Chris Murphy all deserve tremendous amounts of thanks and praise for standing up to the health insurance companies and standing up for us. They could not have been as effective as they were leading from within the caucus without all our collective work.
 
For the first time in history, a comprehensive health care bill has passed both Houses of Congress. The bill will give health care to 32 million Americans and save over 30,000 lives per year. And it will regulate the insurance companies so they can no longer deny care for pre-existing conditions, charge you more if you're sick, put limits on your benefits, or increase rates with impunity.
 
Also for the first time, millions of Americans will have the choice of the same health care plans as Members of Congress.
