Attendees will become familiar with the Nation Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD) Community Mobilization Model and its phases for planning, launching and evaluating activities for HIV Prevention, education and awareness targeting the Hispanic/Latino communities.
 
The NLAAD community mobilization model raises community awareness, helps building coalitions, promotes partnership, collaboration, participation, equity, identifies resources, uses social marketing strategies for behavior change, strategies for working with the media, and encourages developing a plan to mobilize leadership support for HIV prevention services. The model promotes the inclusion of Latinos from every segment of the community. They learned mechanisms for involving all in a group process and reaching consensus.
